Evan loves hiking. I'm usually game to go and the kids are hit and miss. Evan had researched the hike to Bell's Canyon, the lower falls, and from what he could find it was only 4 miles round trip. A long hike, but doable. So on Saturday morning (ish) we started out.
We found a pretty lake to rest by.
And a beautiful fast flowing river to eat a snack by.
A little after passing this river we (luckily) ran into two of our neighbors on their way down. The said we had at least another mile to the lower falls. According to our milage tracker we had already gone about 2 miles. Our kids were pooped and so we turned around. Maybe someday we will make it but our kids will have to be older, six miles is a long hike.
On our way back we saw lots of butterflies, this one was nice enough to let us take a picture.
We also caught a glimpse of Herriman, or at least the copper pit which is near Herriman.
This was my view pretty much the whole way down. All three boys in front of me trying to get down as fast as possible. Sophia hung back with Evan and Cameron.
Hope our next hike is just as pretty but just not quite as long :)
