First day of school! Four kids all in elementary school is kind of a big deal. Chris started 6th (Mrs Allen), Spencer started 5th (Ms Ramsey), Sophia started 2nd (Mrs Lain), and Rhys started Kindergarten (Ms Schmidt). Chris is the only one with a teacher we haven't previously had (obviously since he's the oldest) but we've only had the same teacher once before, when Spencer was in Kindergarten, so it's kind of nice knowing the teachers this year.
Kindergarten starts a week after class begins for the older kids. Rhys was so excited! I had had my appendix removed a couple days before (and my gallbladder removed 34 days before that--ugh!) so I wasn't supposed to drive yet so Evan got to take a child to kindergarten on the first day for the first time ever. We had to document such an auspicious occasion.
We found his desk, he hung up his backpack and then went outside to play for a bit.
Everyone lined up, waved good-bye to moms and dads, and they were off! Rhys loved his first day of school and has made a few good friends and learned lots so far. He's a very good little student. Spread your wings little boy!
